Get ready to meet the new generation of Google Analytics. The new property type includes expanded predictive insights, deeper integration with Google Ads, cross-device measurement capabilities, and more granular data controls. These insights can help marketers anticipate actions clients might take in the future and focus on higher-value audiences.

To ensure we provide our clients with the best and most recent insights, we’re urging everyone to transfer from Universal Analytics to Google Analytics (GA4) as soon as possible to not lose new incoming data. Although we encourage the transfer, remember to keep the Legacy Analytics Code on the website as is. Please follow the directions below or check out the official Google Blog.  Starting July 1, 2023, Universal Analytics will no longer be available for creation, and Google Analytics 4 will be the standard moving forward.

How to Begin the Transfer

Want to know how to get started? Follow these instructions given on the Google Support page:

“To use the new Google Analytics, set up a Google Analytics 4 property for your website and/or app. You’ll need the Editor role on the Google Analytics account.

  • If you’re brand new to Google Analytics, create an account and set up a Google Analytics 4 property. Select Advanced Settings to add a UA during the setup as well, if you do not already have one. If you already have a Universal Analytics property, add a Google Analytics 4 property to your existing setup.
  • When you click GA4 Setup Assistant, you create a Google Analytics 4 property that collects data alongside your existing Universal Analytics property. Your Universal Analytics property is left unchanged and continues to collect data—you can always access it via the property selector or Admin screen.

We want our clients to have the GA4 set up and running on their website as soon as possible so that we can provide the latest and greatest data. If you already have GA4 or are planning on adding it to add it soon, let us know so we can gain access and ensure everything is connected correctly for a smooth transition.

If there are any issues or questions, please contact us as soon as possible, and we will happily get you set up for success!
